Babies!

Also, this past weekend, we finally got to see our friends' new baby. Haley Brielle was born a little over a month ago, I believe. Emily & Todd live close to my family so on the way home from the Clash of the Craniums, we stopped for a visit. Haley is just the tiniest sweetest little baby. She slept in my arms the entire time I held her and I am just so excited for Todd & Emily. You can already tell they will be wonderful parents and I am really looking forward to the stories they have! Here are a couple of pictures below! You can barely see her in Vic's arms!

And here is the proud little family!

Also, back in June, another couple we are friends with had Cole William! They came over for dinner when he was not very big and had tacos. And, of course, I got a couple sweet shots of him. See their blog on the right side of mine "the Meier family". He is growing so much and I love seeing the updates! He was in the office just last week for a lunch visit with Megan and is getting to the stage of laughing and figuring everybody out. I loved every single day of Megan being pregnant because she and I would have daily chats about everything happening as this sweet little boy grew. I am now so excited to get to watch him grow up! Here he was at only a few weeks old (maybe 2 months??) He already wanted to be a part of the "big kids" table!

We are just so lucky to have such good friends with such wonderful kiddos!

Clash of the Craniums

Many of you may remember my post from back in the spring for "Battle of the Brains". Well, this past weekend, Clash of the Craniums was held. It is a trivia contest for teams of 2-5 to compete. All money goes to the Challenge Student Activity Fund. A ton of work goes into it by all the teachers, and my dad is a big part of that. There are 10 categories - this year's categories were things like Halloween, Odds & Ends, Literature, Presidents & First Ladies, Logos, etc. Throughout a couple of hours, you answer questions as a team and score as many points out of a 100 as you can. This year had a Halloween theme (décor, games for extra points, costumes, etc.). So, since we needed to wear costumes, Charley came up with the idea of celebrating Christmas during Halloween! I think our final name was the "Crazy Christmas Carol Crusaders". It was very entertaining to see Vic and Charley get all dressed up. The girls on the team, (my mom, Charley's friend Lauren, and I) were a little less embarrassing as far as our clothes! We just used anything red and green and added any Christmas accessories that we could! It was a ton of fun though. Our team score increased from I think something around 30 points last time to 47 this time. Don't think we are dumb! Those questions are pretty tough. I have to say that I was very impressed with our team members - especially those boys and their history!
Our Team! It's hard to see, but Vic had Christmas lights that lit-up around him.
So, Charley and Lauren found some of their attire at the Goodwill store. I don't know what makes me more concerned about Charley - 1) that he would even buy these or 2) that they used to be someone else's boxers! Okay, so hopefully they were just worn as shorts!
Above are some of the games that were played to earn 'extra points'. Bobbing for apples, finding worms, and dressing up like a mummy!
They always think they are so tough; I mean, they are wearing jingle bell arm bands for goodness sake! But, really, they do keep me entertained!

Overall, we had a wonderful weekend with our family. And, it makes me really want to get ready for Christmas, even if Halloween isn't even here yet! Hey - how cute is that guy below?

Fightin' Texas Aggie Football

A couple of weeks ago, our good friends, Mandee and Derek, came into town for a fun weekend of visiting and some Fightin' Texas Aggie Football! We had a fun weekend of celebrating Vic being done with the CPA process, eating, and hanging out on campus. Though the Ags fell just a little short of a victory, it is always nice to be back on campus cheering on the Maroon & White! I will say that it was pretty chilly that day and the boys were not expecting it to be quite as cold. That is why Vic is wearing a Brazos Valley Bombers shirt he borrowed from a tailgate. It's covering up the maroon t-shirt! We were really hoping our other friends, Joe & Cassie could come in as well, but they learned a couple weeks before the game they wouldn't be able to. However, they still sent us the football tickets they had gotten AND VIP passes to a great tailgate. So, thank you Joe & Cassie!
We always enjoy the fall in College Station, because so many of our college friends come back to watch the Ags and we take advantage of getting to see them! So, anyone that wants to come down, come on!

Lubbock!

Hello! So, back at the beginning of September, Vic took his first trip to Lubbock to not only work, but visit the Veretts! I was here at home scrubbing floors and washing windows and doing yard work (just kidding - I think I shopped and went to the winery that weekend! ha!). Anyways, Vic came back with such great pictures! And, I immediately put them on the blog and asked Vic to, at some point, add information about his trip and pics. But, time gets away and he hasn't and he's pretty busy. So, I decided to just post the pics anyways. I bet you can figure out what they did all day on one of those fun days they had! Cotton!

Maybe Vic will get to post some comments eventually. If not, we are getting to go for trip #2 for him and trip #1 for me in just a few weeks! I can't wait!!

License # is here!

Just have to brag a little bit.....Vic is official! He took his last CPA exam in July, found out he passed at the end of August, had to pay a few fees, take a couple online courses and is now officially a CPA. I could not be more proud of him! Thinking back to only January, when Vic started taking the Becker Review night courses to review for the exams, we prepared ourselves for this to take awhile. Becoming a CPA is no easy task but with Vic (and lots of prayers), he just can't fail! So, needless to say, we are starting off this super gorgeous day in College Station very pleased.

Have a wonderful day everyone!
