April Memories

April was the busiest month! But, here are a few other memories I want to document!
During the month, we got "farmed" by the CS FFA and had to pay $25 (if you wanted to) to have it moved to someone else's house. So fun!
Everly loves her stools and chairs. But, when I saw this one day, I thought we were in trouble! She cannot exactly undo the locks, but I'm afraid it's coming.
Vic took off an entire day to watch the Master's with Chris and they even bought Master's shirts.
Everly has spent her past two years dropping off and picking up Grace with me 2 days a week at Sonshine School. She loves her big sister and clearly is comfortable in the school!
 Sisters!
I couldn't stop laughing; Atticus filled this out for school after spring break. He got to try crawfish with Luc, next door and wrote "Over spring break, I dug into crawfish. We popped their eyes out."
 Sports cards. All the time.
 Pretty in purple!
Atticus had an art show for school on the same night of his baseball game. I love keeping his art show artwork!
Imaginative play days are my favorite for the kids. Atticus doesn't even mind playing in the dollhouse with Grace on occasion.
Everly loves to snuggle or "cuggle" as she was saying here. She instructs us where to put the pillow and where to sit so she can snuggle right up!
We did a fun run for a little boy who passed away; it was organized by the Cummings family and they raised over $30,000 for this boys scholarship! It was the day after Grace's freezing t-ball game and it was still cold and she was sick, so we bundled her and Everly up and the rest of us walked/ran the run. (Clearly Vic ran and I walked with the stroller).
This boy was so excited to do the Super Cooper Run, and wanted to run ahead with Vic. We decided he could run at the front of the walker group where I was and when he got tired, we would catch up to him. Well, the race was on campus and somehow, half of the people were sent the wrong way, including Atticus! So, when I got back to the finish line, I had never caught up with Atticus and Vic had gone around two times already. It was kind of a mess, but not a big deal because it was a Sunday morning and some people were still walking or running because they got back on the right trail. But, where was Atticus? We didn't stress out, but I was worried because I didn't want him lost, of course, or scared. Well, we split up and had another friend head another way and Vic found him a little while later on the trail following walkers in the race. He had fallen down and tore his pants, but was not unhappy and didn't realize anything was really wrong. Some other Aggies, of course, who were in the run watched out for him until we got him. Goodness! It wasn't really a freak out moment, because we had plans to find him, but it sure could have been! Had the race followed the course, our idea to let him run ahead between the walkers and runners would have worked fine. But, goodness. Next time, we will just keep him with one of us.
Grace was not feeling it, but we hit up Taco Cabana for breakfast afterwards! Yum!
Then, this sweet thing, on another day, found these glasses and looked adorable.
And she had to show me her boo boo a lot!
GG came twice this month to hit up birthdays, ballgames, dance recitals and musicals.
And, Atticus performed in his 1st grade musical at school. He had a lot of energy that night and was standing next to a friend who also has a lot of energy...boy was it silly!
Atticus and I had a quick date to Freddy's for ice cream one day.
And Daddy played with these two girls outside on one beautiful day!
On this day for dance, Grace dressed in rain boots and her t-ball hat. Gotta be yourself!
And we picked lots of "fowers" and smelled them while Grace was in class!
3 little Aggies all in a row!
Everly started putting herself in this baby buggy and carrying Mickey with her.
Without realizing it, I dressed them all in the same color this day!
I signed up to bring cookies this month for 1st grade birthday celebrations and had to do baseball ones!
The kids played dress up one day and it as so fun!

And Everly made dinner one night. One chicken nugget at a time on a cookie sheet on top of the trash can...eh well!
So, every time Everly would see Atticus's caps on the ground, she would associate baseball with them and go find a glove or a bat to bring out. Well, bats and a 2 year old are not safe. We happened to be in the kids room and she found it. Then she swung it. Then daddy took it away. Then she got mad. It's tough being 2.

I look ridiculous and am sure I'm sleeping because being pregnant makes me tired, but I love that Vic got this pic of my sweet girl and I. She never falls asleep on the couch, so I have no idea why we were so tired today!
This was Atticus's NLF draft picks that he drew.
And then he stayed up one night to watch the draft. It goes on for days, but the first night was the most fun for him! Thankfully a few Aggies got signed in the later rounds.
Cheese!
And I have to document this because I made Vic take a photo. This is how things end up when I am on the couch, which I do as much as I can towards the ends of days in this pregnancy. Every kid needs by me. And I love it. Some days, you just want a moment to yourself, but then how can you even be unhappy when they want to be so close?

Atticus's 7th Birthday and Party

Since we took Atticus to the Astros game, he knew we were not throwing a friend birthday party. He seemed to be completely ok with that. His birthday fell on a Monday, so he had school and a baseball game that night, so it was going to be hard to squeeze all of the family festivities into the day, but we did it! First of all, that morning, he dressed in his new Astros gear for school. He had a cinnamon roll with a candle in it so we could sing. Then, Grace and I took Atticus lunch at school (Torchy's Tacos) for his birthday. The funny thing he asked me that morning was "when are you going to setup for my birthday party?" I realized that he wanted to know when I was going to decorate. Fortunately, I'd already ordered some sports balloons from HEB and I was making a sports themed cake, but all of a sudden I realized he was expecting decorations! So, Grace and I went to the dollar store and got lucky enough to find some table/banner/cups/plates/decorations before we grabbed his lunch that morning! Whew!

We decorated a little; added some sunflower seeds and peanuts in bowls on the table; made his cake; wrapped his gifts and made a real party for him! When he got home from school, he seemed pleased. It's just funny because I wouldn't have thought that was so important to him, but I was glad it was. Birthdays are fun!

I'll show the day in photos:
It was an early Monday morning for Atticus's birthday breakfast of Melbo's cinnamon rolls!
On the way to school as a 7 year old!
While Atticus was at school, Everly and Grace and I started making his birthday cake. Oh now that Everly realizes what licking spatulas is and what batter is, she wants to help with EVERY thing we bake. Reminds me of another little girl in my house...Grace!
She's really no help at all, except she is cute. She wants to put her finger in just the dry stuff - she doesn't care what it is, she needs a lick!
Grace and I took lunch to Atticus at school and sat on the stage with him.
When I picked Atticus up from school, he was SO excited because he got EIGHT laps on his birthday for running day in PE! This was the most he got all year!
He had a baseball game on his birthday, which he was excited about! And this girl - she was too funny that night. This is the field behind ours and where we were sitting. Well, she took my Sonic drink (unsweet tea with ice - she loves it) and decided to plop herself in this spot. She just entertained herself for a long time. She wasn't bothering the other game or team in that dugout, so I just watched her and let her play. She was just too funny under the "foul ball hazard" sign! https://youtu.be/vXxufw2i-2o
It was a great night because Atticus's team won their game! And here he is with Brody, his friend in his class and on his team!
We got home to enjoy cake and presents. Here is the cake I came up with. Honestly, I was SO proud it worked. I had to Pinterest myself away to figure out how to make those sports balls on top and then of course decorating is always just trial and error. But, it turned out cute and Atticus loved it - which is always my goal!
The kids had to eat dinner and take baths before cake. We decided instead of party hats, we would all wear Atticus's baseball caps!

And then we sang happy birthday! Everly was REALLY wanting cake, but I still think we sang to him twice! https://youtu.be/YuhmlqipMuE

And then we opened presents: Atticus got clothes, legos, football and baseball cards, and more!
He was pretty excited about this binder of football cards I scored at his school's auction carnival! https://youtu.be/MGFdf_behHU
Happy Birthday to our great son Atticus!
