Atticus's Two Front Teeth

So, in the month of September, Atticus lost both of his top two front teeth. He had only lost the two bottom baby teeth during 1st grade, but out of the blue, when eating an apple one day, he realized one of his top ones was loose. Not long after he lost that one, the other one was loose. So, he decided he really wanted to lose that second tooth before picture day at school so he could have no teeth in his photo! And sure enough, while in Sanger, as he slept one night, he lost that second tooth! He met his goal and I can't wait to see his school picture! Also, I LOVE to hear him talk. His little sweet voice says things a tiny bit different without those two teeth. He doesn't even realize it, but I think it's just precious. Here's the before (when the first one was dangling by a thread) and the after!

Atticus Lost a Tooth!

Atticus lost his first tooth at the end of September. He had been waiting and waiting to lose a tooth. Even during the end of Kindergarten, he would talk about losing a tooth and then finally when First Grade started, he really wanted to lose one because everyone else was! He would ask me many times to check his teeth to see if they were wiggly. I would give him hope, but most of the time they were not. Finally, he had a wiggly tooth. In fact, both bottom front teeth became wiggly and he was so excited. He actually lost two within a couple of weeks of one another. But, the first one is so exciting! It was one of those hanging on by a thread and it actually came out at school! The nurse gave him a little plastic tooth to bring it home in. It was an exciting day!
This was him with it still in place.
And this is that gross stage where they can push it all the way out with their tongues, but it's still hanging on!
When he got home the next day, it was gone!
So that night, he left it under his pillow with a note. And the next morning, he had a letter and five glittery tooth fairy dollars!
And of course, Grace thought it was pretty neat too!

Everly: Baths and Brushing Teeth

One night, while Vic and Atticus were in Goliad, I gave Everly a bath and took way too many photos. This is her at 16 months. She has so many expressions and is too cute. So, I decided to just post all the photos because it was a cute night!

 This was her serious face.
In the photo above and below, I think she looks like some of Vic's baby photos.
Is there anything sweeter than tiny baby hands? I know that is what Melbo, my grandmother, always likes the most - tiny baby hands.
And this head full of hair! It's so red and has so much body, plus a little curl on the ends!
For the longest time, this was her kissy face and how she would give kisses. Oh those sweet baby lips!
She had been into babies a lot and I loved watching her love on them.

Also, around this time, Everly decided to copy the big kids and start brushing her teeth. This is also when she began to love a stool as much as her chairs. She can be very independent!
Of course, Grace needs to be a good big sister and brush her hair and help her brush her teeth.
I love these sweet girls so much!
