VIc's Baptism & the BCS Christmas Parade

The day after Grace's dance performance, we went to church for a special day! Vic was Baptized! Because Vic was raised in a Lutheran Church, he had an infant baptism and went through confirmation to start his relationship with Jesus. But, when we decided back in November to join First Baptist Church Bryan, they explained that Vic needed to have a Believer's Baptism. Vic had mixed feelings because he felt like his infant baptism and life with Jesus up to this point was still very real. And it was! But, he understood the reason and we really love our church and we really love that the kids could watch Vic be baptized too. So, he was baptized on this day. It was really special! And our church did such an amazing job of making Vic feel comfortable. They had someone assigned to him (that he actually knew because he used to work with this person's wife) that showed him where the baptismal pool was and where to change and prepare. I had the kids and we didn't ask our families to come, so he was on his own. But, I was so proud of him and loved this moment in our church. It makes me excited for the day that our kids choose this decision and are also baptized. Also, taking pictures was not something we felt we needed to do, but someone did take them and I thought it would be nice to share them.
After that, we celebrated and headed to lunch at Taco Cabana and then walked over to the corner of campus at University and Texas to sit and watch the BCS Christmas Parade. It was a beautiful day and the kids really liked watching the floats. They are not super fancy or impressive, but they throw candy and it is still fun to watch the marching bands and the Corps of Cadets and the fun cars and floats that do come through. It was a day of kids being so good (every adventure with a 7, 5, 2 and 4 month old is new for us!) and just made it enjoyable! The days where kids are not having their best days make events tough, but this one was good!
