Atticus got a little red wagon for Christmas. It is really fun. Atticus really enjoys being pulled around in it. I cannot wait for warmer weather. We have only taken him outside in it about 4 times since Christmas. But, this crazy weather is up and down. And just as soon as it gets warm, Atticus seems to have a cold and I want him well before we take him outside too much. By the time he is better, it's back to being rainy or cold. So, I am REALLY excited for spring weather and no colds/earaches to be here! Here's some cute pics of Atticus and Daddy getting ready for a wagon ride in January.

MLK Day Fun
For those of you who do not know, mine and Vic's friendship with many of the Veretts was established on MLK Weekend 2004. And since then we have spent many MLK Weekends together. This year was no exception. Vic and I, being spoiled enough to not have to travel, waited in College Station for Mary & Taylor to come from Del Rio, Kristofer to come from Lubbock and Whitney to come from DC. For a really cute post about how our weekend went see my cousin Mary's blog post. Otherwise, here are a couple of pics to commemorate the occasion.

New Years...all grown up
New Year's is always a fun holiday. No matter what we do, we tend to stay up til midnight, drink fun drinks, eat good good, have fun with friends....but wait. What do you do when you have a baby that needs to be cared for while you are used to partying it up? No problem - you just have new year's with friends who have the same situation, move in with them for the night, put the babies to bed early, and then continue the fun!
That is exactly what we did. We were in Orange Grove for the New Year's weekend, so we went to our good friend's Mandee and Derek's house to stay the night. First, we went on a wagon ride. Now, I am sure some people drove by and thought we were ridiculous. Mandee is pulling the wagon; Vic is following her; Derek and I are both on the side with our fun cameras shooting 100 shots just in case we miss one second of the ride; and just about everyone is carrying a beverage in their hands.

Anyways, some other friends came over also. We played with and fed the boys. Then, we set up the pack n play and at about 8:30 Atticus was asleep; their sweet baby Beck was asleep after that and we all rang in the new year together. Who says your partying days are over when you have kids? Okay, so we were pretty tired and we did a lot of sitting around the table visiting and eating, but it was so much fun and we had a great time!!!
And do you know what we did as soon as morning hit? Spent our last couple of hours with our friends on the kitchen floor playing with Beck and Atticus. It is so funny how your lives change but how they are even better than what you would have expected.

Happy New Year Everyone!
Christmas 2011
Christmas was very busy this year with traveling. Even though Vic and Atticus were still sick, we headed to Sanger bright and early on the 23rd. We surprised my parents by showing up at 9am! We stayed until Tuesday, the 27th and the days were busy with visiting friends, a date for me and Vic, opening gifts, eating, games, and enjoying our first Christmas with Atticus. While we were thankful Atticus kept getting better, Vic didn't do so well. He had a cough that kept him up all night so even if he was feeling better, he couldn't stop coughing to get any rest. But, he was a trooper and took as many naps as he could and still had a good time! Here are a few pictures from our Sanger Christmas...they are random. I took over 600 pictures in December. And then narrowed it down (you know how you take 15 pictures of the same thing and then don't really need them?) to 397. But, it's still too hard to choose the "best" ones, so here are just a few for fun...

After we got back to College Station, we unpacked and rested for a day and then packed up for Orange Grove. Again we had more food, more visiting, more presents, and more fun. Here are a few more pics...and you can see that we made Atticus wear the same thing when opening gifts!

So, until next year, that was our whirlwind Christmas full of wonderful times!

Friends with benefits
Do you know what is fun? Having a baby.
Do you know what is more fun? Having friends who have babies!
Do you know what is even more fun than that? Seeing our friends and meeting their babies!
December was a great month to mostly stay in College Station. But, fortunately we have friends who still have family in College Station or Bryan and they happened to be making trips here. Our good friends Wyatt and Jenna have now one year old Reese and our friends LK and Darcee have 6 month old Kendall. And, we got to see them all during one weekend!! So, here is to good friends, precious babies, and hopes that our babies may grow up to be friends (and fightin' texas aggies) like us!

Our babies grow so fast, but I can't wait to watch them grow up and share our good and rough times as parents with our good friends!
