We started the day with donuts and candles, because yum! Everly was really into the candle and even leaned forward during us singing, that she singed a tiny piece of her hair! I laughed (it was tiny), but Vic was very concerned. haha!
Just too many to eat at once!
We spent the morning playing and accessorizing.
We played with the clubhouse gang!
Daddy brought home our favorite thing...birthday balloons! And one had Mickey Mouse on it!
Then something happened and we cried, "because it's my party and I'll cry if I want to."
We had a Mickey Mouse shaped sandwich for lunch.
As
with most of the kids cakes, I like to find something creative on
Pinterest that goes with my theme; well, I found a couple of things, but
they just weren't going to pan out. So, We did a multi layer, multi
colored chocolate cake with characters on top. You can never go wrong
with just adding some characters on top! And while it turned out VERY
yellow, I thought it matched Everly's love for the Clubhouse friends
perfectly! And she REALLY loved it! Although here is a hint: if you are
going to put M&M's on a cake, do not do it until the day of your
event. While it worked great because that is what I did on this day, by
the next day, the M&M's had lost their color and were pale and
didn't look good. They tasted fine, but something happened to make them
look more pink/gray than red!
And when Everly saw it, she loved it. And she really needed some of those M&M's that were on that cake, of course.
This
smile of Everly's - I love when little kids learn to smile - she does
it with all of her might and her eyebrows raise up and it's such a crazy
smile!
More smiles!
Daddy & Atticus got home from the game and gave lots of birthday hugs because it was party time!
First, we ate dinner.
We tried to get pictures with our sweet girl before we sang Happy Birthday to her. And then it was time to sing and cut cake!
Just give me some icing, mom!
She needed to hold her balloons for this entire event!
So,
this is where she got even cuter! We sang Happy Birthday to her and she
blew out the candles, but she was too fast. So, we did it a few times.
Here is a cute video of the event!
And then we ate cake! This girls loves some birthday cake!
Then,
it was time to open presents. The thing about Everly and presents is
that when she opens one, she wants to just have it and play and doesn't
exactly understand yet that she can open more! So, she got this farm
puzzle above and was perfectly content with just that gift. However, as
the gifts kept coming, she realized they were all great!
A
giant mickey mouse? Hooray! The funnier thing is that even though he
sleeps in her bed every night, she really only wants her little Mickey!
And
then she opened a big gift from GG from that big box...her very own
tricyle! She was so excited! She loves the kids scooters and trikes
outside and is pretty coordinated, so to get her own was so much fun!
Then, she even got her own helmet. Oh she was too cute!
GG
also gave her new shoes and I love this photo of Everly putting her
little foot out for Grace to put her shoe on. It reminds me of
Cinderella!
And
away she goes! What a great birthday for our sweet 2 year old! Oh and
the last funny thing is how she reacted the ENTIRE time she was opening
presents. It's like she just couldn't believe what was happening and
kept saying a phrase that sounded like "ooh gosh!" (which we don't allow
the kids to say, but we couldn't decide if she was saying that or
something else). I barely got it on video, but we laughed about it all
night long.
