When we went to Sanger, we were about 9 or so weeks pregnant and thought we would go ahead and tell the Erwin's since we were in person. However, I am not always creative with this. So, for this time, we put a piece of masking tape on Everly that said Big Sister and waited for people to notice! ha! Pop asked if we were getting a puppy! GG didn't notice for awhile! It was a fun way to tell people. So, our 4th baby had a due date of August 4th!

Mom & Dad's 40th Wedding Anniversary
40 years is a long time to be married, so we had to celebrate it as big as we could! The weekend of the 19th and 20th of August, we headed to Sanger for all 3 kids and their spouses to take Mom & Dad out for their 40th anniversary!
We started the day with the girls drinking margaritas and doing a little shopping, while the boys drank beer and played games. This was all at fun places in Downtown Denton.
We decided to go to downtown Fort Worth for dinner and then hit up a dance hall, because this is exactly what mom and dad were doing the night Daddy proposed to Mom - dance! It really was a fun night. We ate dinner at the Horseshoe Hill Cafe, right down from the Stockyards. Starting with Vic parking Dad's truck and coming back to tell us he wasn't sure it would be there when we got back, (shady parking lot attendant, ha!), it was a fun dinner with lots of chicken fried steak!

This is Ana making us all laugh...because she is the life of our parties!
I can not resist food pictures!
Then, we made our way to the Stagecoach Ballroom to dance the night away. It was really great; when researching, I could not find a lot of good old fashioned dance halls, but this one was really good. The band was good and the dance floor was busy. We visited, danced, drank beer - all fun things you do when you go dancing, and hopefully nostalgic for Mom & Dad! It was a really fun night celebrating 40 years of wedded bliss for Mom & Dad. Vic and I are 30 years behind them, but I already can't wait until we are celebrating 40, then 50, then 60 years of marriage! (and more!)
Oh! And one thing we had to do at the end of the night was dance to Faded Love, Mom & Dad's song. Well, Daddy requested it, but the band never played it - one negative for the band that night. However, when we got to the parking lot, Charley found the song and played it through his car speakers and the 3 couples still there, danced in the parking lot to the song. It was really sweet and I loved it! Happy 40th Anniversary Mom & Dad!
