Danielle and I

So, I also thought I'd post a super fun pic of my friend Danielle and I. Don't look too closely at me - no make-up, hair everywhere. But, Danielle is so fun I just had to post it. This was taken right after we got back from Port A. Danielle came over and so did Charley and the 4 of us went to the pool and then grilled some food from Slovacek's in Snook. Yum!

Almost a CPA!

And, one final update on Vic's exams: He has passed 3 of the 4 on the first try! His last one he will re-take on July 1st, so keep him in your thoughts! He's almost officially a CPA and I could not be more proud!

Port Aransas VACATION!

For our 4th year in a row (well 4 years of me and Vic going - I think Vic has been many more times), we have gone to Port Aransas for vacation. I LOVE going to the beach. Growing up in the north Texas area, we don't have beaches, so this is always so fun for me. Our friends Emily and Todd came from Little Elm and we all drove to Port A together to meet Mandee and Derek. Then, over the weekend, others came including Jill, my sister-in-law, and our other friends Joe, Josh, and Cassie and Vic's dad and friends Raymond and Vance. It was all a lot of fun! Friday night we cooked out, Saturday and Sunday was spent at the beach and then some fun restaurants and on Monday, we got to see Mandee and Derek's new house before heading back to home. Vic and I could definitely have stayed a few more days! So, instead of typing more, I am going to just post pictures and try to explain them:

This is Vic, Emily and Todd - we barely fit everything into their vehicle: there were even random water bottle stuck in every nook and cranny left!

Ready for the beach! Vic, Sarah, Tood, Emily, Mandee and Derek

The boys on the beach: they played washers and rode the boogey boards and drank a few beers! The girls on this trip are very lucky to have such great guys!

I love group pictures, so here is one right before we went to the Pelican Club for dinner. This is the night Jill came to eat with us!

So, a few of them played volleyball in the pool; it was an entertaining game because they had an invisible net and 2 of them were in 3 foot water and 2 were in 5 foot water - very funny! I had to post this picture because of Vic's action shot. Look at THAT body! haha too bad I cut off his head. I am mainly typing this because Vic is going to read this and say "Sarah, did you have to post that picture?" then he will say "I do look pretty good, don't I?" Vain? Maybe a little - haha. And, though he does look a little like an Ethiopian child sometimes because there is absolutely NO fat on his body, I am very proud of him and of course, thinks he looks great!

This is Steve, (Vic's Dad), Raymond and Vance who came out to visit for a little while on Sunday night. They had been fishing. There is never a dull moment with Steve around and Raymond and Vance are also 2 great guys. I am so lucky Vic has such great family and friends!

Our final night in Port A: Cassie, Joe, Josh, Vic, Sarah, Mandee, Derek, Emily, Todd. This is right before we went to dinner at Crazy Cajun. I love the food there; just a boil of shrimp, crawfish, crab legs, sausage, potatoes, corn...YUM!

At Crazy Cajun waiting on our food: Silly Josh - he thinks UT is a better school than A&M!

We had such a great time and already cannot wait for next year's Port A trip!

Looking Good!

I have to post a picture of Stormy and Tabatha because they look so HOT in it! They came in a couple weeks ago for a wedding and stayed at the house with us. I love seeing them. I miss Tabatha (and of course Stormy) a lot and wish we did not live so far apart. While they were here, Tabatha actually offered to take all of Vic's information and start applying for jobs for him in the DFW area just so we could move back! Anyways, we had a good visit and played some 42 (which we have not done in awhile) and loved having them here. So, here is a picture of them right before they went to the wedding.

Battle of the Brains

So, my dad works at the Challenge School in Sanger and to raise money to buy Senior Rings for the Seniors this year, they held a contest called Battle of the Brains. It is a team contest of 2-5 people and you answer questions in categories as a team. I think there were 10 categories with 10 questions each. Everyone sits as teams in a room with large screens. One lady reads aloud the questions and they are posted on the large screens. You have about 40 seconds to answer each question and write down your answer. At the end of a category, your sheets are taken up to be judged. And, then whoever gets the most answers right, wins.

So, when I heard about this from Daddy, I decided to get a team together. I just knew I could count on my family to be a part of it and really wanted Tabatha. Well, Tabatha was in, but my family was either not available or helping with the contest, so the team started out as just me and Tabatha. I decided our Team Name would be the Wild Aggie Women - how fun is that? I got our t-shirts and made a super fun poster. Right before the contest my favorite aunt GG was able to come with my grandparents so we recruited her. AND she was wearing pink already, so it was practically meant to be. Then, throughout the contest, Melbo and Pa (my grandparents) become members of the team, because they knew lots of answers!

Now for the BAD NEWS: We got LAST PLACE. Those questions were SO hard. I mean, some of them were not bad, but we got about 30 right out of 100. I could not believe it. The last thing we wanted then, of course, was to give Aggies a bad name! Good thing beauty is just as important as brains, right Tabatha and Geeg? It was really fun and I am already ready for the fall contest. Our plan next time is to have some of the boys on our team also. Vic, Stormy and Charley would all be really good at this!

The Giant Cupcake

Okay, so I apologize for not being current -it has just been busy around here. I'll probably post a few different posts today to get us all caught up on the Seidel life! First: The Giant Cupcake.

So, my friend Katie bought me a Giant Cupcake Cake Pan for my birthday. And, let me tell you - it is super cool. It's one giant pan that has a cupcake bottom and a cupcake top. You use almost 2 cake mixes to fill both sides and after it is baked, you put the top on the bottom and have a giant cupcake. I finally got to try it recently when I was part of the "Pink Committee" at Vic's office. His coworker, Joe, had a new baby girl and because it was a girl, the Pink Committee decorated his office in ALL pink. And, I provided cupcakes with pink icing as a little treat. My original idea was to make the giant cupcake and then baby cupcakes. I ran out of time to make a second giant cupcake for his party, but see above for my first shot. I realize I should have put something small next to it so show you exactly how big it is, but in inches, it is about 10 inches tall! Next time, I will post a picture of one fully iced! Oh and here is a picture of the cake pan. Any of you that may have a birthday around me sometime soon could very well get this giant cupcake as your cake!

This will have to be another quick post...so sorry I haven't updated! I've been working late nights these past couple of weeks and have just been extra busy every other second! But, all is great. I will give you details of the last couple of weeks soon, but for now, I'm about to run final errands for our vacation to Port Aransas. Our friends Todd and Emily are on their way to College Station now and all 4 of us will drive to Port A tomorrow to meet up with other friends, Mandee and Derek. We will be enjoying a few days of fun in the sun and RELAXATION!

So, after this weekend, I'll have super fun pictures to post!

Also, for an update for those of you who know my friend Megan or have at least heard me talk about her----doctor appointment went great and baby could come any day now!!!! I just hope it holds out until I get back from my vacation!

Vic passed another part of CPA!

This post will be short and sweet because I am about to leave work and head home to await Stormy and Tabatha's arrival! But, I have been meaning to post all day to say that Vic learned this morning that he passed Part 4 of the CPA exam. We are still waiting for Part 3. So, hooray! He's 2 down, 2 to go! I will update on the rest of our lives soon!

Top 10 Reasons Why We Love Our New Bank

Okay, so I promised a post on why we L.O.V.E. our new bank. First, some background: We have been with our former bank for awhile now (since the beginning of college) and while it has been great, it does not pay us anything to keep our money in it. Now, while in college, neither of us had much money, so this was not an issue. And, even after college due to paying for weddings, and getting started out on our own, we still did not have this issue. But, since we have gotten married and I, personally, now get to share in Vic's wealth, since his paycheck is much more than mine, we finally have a pretty good savings account that grows each month. So, low and behold, after receiving 31 cents on a nice sized savings account month after month, we decided we needed a major financial institution change.

Thus, we moved all our money to....wait for it....Brenham National Bank!

Top 10 reasons (short) why we love them:

10. From Brenham
9. Small-town atmosphere
8. Bonus Items
7. Convenient bill pay, online banking, etc.
6. Print debit cards in-house
5. Hometown picture of bluebonnets ON the debit card taken by hometown photographer
4. Our banker's name is Barbie
3. Trust
2. 4% Interest
1. FREE BLUE BELL ICE CREAM!

Top 10 reasons (with details) why we love them:

10. First, they are from Brenham and we love that cute adorable little town that we would actually go live in if it weren't such a commute to our jobs in College Station and that we could probably have a larger plot of land and bigger house for a much smaller price than what it would cost in College Station. And, I would have more room for my baby goats. And my baby humans.

9. They are truly a small-town bank. It's the kind of bank that we can bring "little Vic" and his brothers and sisters to and they will not only know them by name, but give them a sucker and they can sit in the bank president's chair while we visit with the bank president. It's that kind of small-town bank.

8. They gave us pens, cups, koozies (they must have seen Vic coming!), and this super fun red flashy light that I put on my key ring right away....and I don't put just any key ring on my keys!

7. The technical stuff: online banking, free bill pay, they pay all ATM fees, etc.

6. They printed our debit cards right there INSIDE the bank. You know how you have to wait for big bank's debit cards in the mail? Not at BNB. It was sort of a magical moment. One second they are writing down your name, the next second you have, in hand, your freshly printed debit card that you can start spending Vic's money from right away! I think it was still warm when they gave it to us.

5. Also, want to know what picture is on the debit card? A picture of bluebonnets from Brenham taken by a hometown photographer. Our personal banker, told us all about this photographer. I bet big banks are too snobby to know who shot the picture on their debit cards!

4. Barbie is the name of our personal banker. Barbie - now when was the last time you heard that name? Totally personable and friendly. She even gave us a notebook with dividers to keep our statements in. She may have even flirted with Vic, but Vic tends to think every girl is flirting with him, and to get into the details of that would take an entire new post...

3. They don't require thumbprints, multiple forms of ID, or your firstborn to do business with them.

2. Our interest rate is 4% on our checking account! In the last month, we already made money!

1. And, the Number 1 Reason we love them: You get FREE Blue Bell Ice Cream EVERY TIME you come into the bank! You just go to the freezer and pick out what you want. I bet you could even take an extra ice cream bar home with you and they would not even care! And, knowing Vic, since he can be a little tight when it comes to frivolous things like ice cream, he will probably only allow our children to have treats like that when we go to the bank...because it's free.

Happy Cinco De Mayo

Well, it is Tuesday the 5th of May. Test is done. It's almost 5:00 and I am ready to unwind. In honor of the day I'll probably have a Corona. Vic
