Atticus and Friends

This weekend was wonderful! We are very good friends with 2 other couples, who, when they visited last fall, were both also pregnant. In February, Mandee and Derek had Beck; and just two days after Atticus was born, in May, Camden was born to Todd and Emily. So, everyone came down for the weekend so our boys could meet and the adults could catchup. All 3 boys were even down by 9 or 10 each night and Vic and I, for the first time in a long time, CHOSE to stay up until midnight laughing and visiting! I think the pictures will say it all.

Future Aggie Roommates?
We cannot wait for our yearly family vacations!!

Holy Baptism

Atticus was baptized on Sunday, July 31, 2011. We had our families in town for the weekend to celebrate and cooked out Saturday night. It was a very special occasion, as we also celebrated GG's birthday on the 30th! Pastor Erich did a wonderful job and the service was very special. Atticus only cried during the prayer, of course. We asked Charley & Jill to be his sponsors. It was also fun because Jill was baptized 28 years ago on the exact same date! Atticus also wore the same outfit that Vic wore when he was baptized many, many years ago. See some pictures below!
Everyone sang Happy Birthday to GG on Saturday night (between the busy week, she even ended up making her own cake!)
Being presented to the congregation by our beloved Pastor.
After the baptism, he was wide awake, and while we have no pictures, he was giving the most flirty grins to Ana sitting behind us!!
Jill and Charley are Atticus' sponsors - boy are we expecting a lot out of them!
Our families and friends who came to celebrate.

Now, the work begins! Vic and I were riding the easy train for 3 months; now we have to work hard to raise this sweet little boy to know, follow, and love our Lord. And, of course, we look forward to every moment.

3 months old

Today, Atticus turned 3 months old! Here is what is going on for Atticus at 3 months:

1. He weighs approx. 14 and 1/2 lbs.

2. He is sleeping from 8 to 9 1/2 hours a night. While this is wonderful, naps during the day are harder to do (unless of course he is in the car or in your arms!). Oh and after sleeping all night or taking a good long nap, he still takes awhile to wake up - lots of stretching and groaning!

3. He is starting to play and entertain himself. He is reaching for toys on his mobile on the changing table and on his rocker. His rocker will rock faster as he kicks harder so sometimes those little legs get to going so fast and the rocker is rocking and his toys are swinging and he is so focused and excited!

4. He is cooing and gurgling a lot now. Sometimes it even sounds like giggling!

5. Smiling is constant and the best smiles come first thing in the morning when we go to get him up.

6. We have taken 2 trips to Sanger now, and he has slept the entire time he is in the car.

7. He is starting to roll over onto his side, but has no desire to keep going all the way over.

8. We are still working on raising his head while he is on his tummy. He holds it up great otherwise and is getting better at sitting in the bumbo.

9. He is raising his little legs up in the air and holding them there while on his back.

10. He is slowly finding his hands and putting the whole fist in his mouth. Sometimes, he gets just the thumb in there and goes to town sucking his thumb. He also just barely starting to clasp his hands together.

11. He is also drooling, and I can't help but think it's pretty cute!

So much is happening these days! See his 3 month monkey picture below!

And it was also GG's birthday today!

Meeting Memaw

This week Atticus and I went to Sanger to visit and on the way back, we stopped in Hillsboro so he could meet his great grandmother (my mom's mom), Memaw. He is her first great grandchild out of her 12 grandchildren. We also got to see Milly & Jesse again too! I think she is smitten with him!
Can you tell we met at the lounge in the outlet mall at Hillsboro to visit? The picture taking backgrounds were not ideal. :-)

Photo Shoots

So, when Atticus was 7 weeks old, we had his picture made. And, this past week as he turns 3 months old, we had his picture made again. Both times were great, although because he is smiling so much now, we were hoping for bigger smiles in his pictures! However, when too much is going on around him, he just cannot concentrate and prefers to see what is going on around him instead. But, we still got some adorable ones! Here are a couple from his 7 week photo shoot.

And here are some from his 3 month photo shoot. How different he already looks!
