Letters To Santa, Santa's Wonderland, Other Memories

We had lots of fun in December; here are few other things we did!

 Baked Christmas cookies!
Had dinner in Downtown Bryan and watched the Lighted Christmas Parade!
Had a fun visit from the Pilarczyks (Chris, Lindsey, Peyton and Piper)!
Grace's dictated letter to Santa. And it includes Everly a well.
And Atticus also wrote his letter.
 We hit up Santa's Wonderland!
It really is an impressive light setup!
 We ate s'mores there too!
And we rode on the train! Grace wanted to do this little train so much and we waited in line for 30 minutes for it. She was so excited, but so sad when the 8 minute ride was over. Poor Grace!
We hit up our neighborhood Christmas party, looking cute!
And Atticus had the BEST time at school in December. They had a kindness elf (which meant Atticus wrote me the sweetest little notes every day!), dress up days (grinch, pajama, santa, rudolph), and lots of fun at his party!
Even Vic dresses festive, thanks to GG's annual Christmas pajama present!
And we made lots of cookies for Santa!
Reading with Daddy! This was actually an SEC mascot book that Dionis and Glenn sent Atticus; it was the PERFECT book for him! They got it when they were in Georgia visiting their son, Drew, who attends Georgia.
 Daddy makes great hot chocolate!
Vic took the big kids one night to Central Park to look at lights!
THis winter was so much colder than in the past. Steve and Janice bought the kids carhart jackets last year I was so sad they didn't get to wear them much. But, this year, they really got good use out of them!
It was a great month!!

Snow in College Station!

What a cold winter it was, for College Station! I'm pretty sure it didn't stop having cold days until late March! It's so hot and humid here that I really loved the constant cold weather. But, what a surprise it was when the night of December 7th, we had snow! It started out with flurries and the kids and our next door neighbors were so excited! They did snow angels and ate snow and everything with those flurries. Then, Vic got home and as it snowed a little harder, he said we needed to look at lights in the flurries because "when do you get to do that?". So, we drove through Pebble Creek looking at lights and it was so fun. However, as the night went on, it really started to stick. Of course, as soon as you think "this is as much as we are going to get, so we should really play while we can", it continued to stick. And the pictures below will show you everything! Everly was not that impressed - it was cold! And Grace loved it until she realized it was too wet and cold. But, Atticus? He could have stayed out all night. He was soaked to his underwear (they were actually sagging with his pants) when he came in and he stayed out until past 9:30 playing. But, it was so much fun to enjoy the snow with the kids!
 Checking out those flurries!

Christmas lights in the falling snow! Everly's favorite part was probably sitting forwards in Grace's carseat!
We realize we should get some pictures because "look at all that snow!"
But it continued to snow! Our neighbors got a fast picture of us and I love it so much - bundled up in hats and blankets all in College Station, Texas and in front of Vic's beautifully lit trees!
We attempted a snowman; he was so cute in the end. Had we waited awhile, we could probably have built a real one!
Atticus was into those snow angels!
And he was into throwing snowballs! He and Vic had quite the fight!
This was at the end of the night before we went in. We couldn't believe how much it snowed!
I won't post the picture of his red little bottom, but he was frozen. Well, it was late and he needed a bath, but Vic and I did not think to prepare him or even slowly put him in the shower, where the water was warm. He was so shocked at how warm water on a frozen body can feel....poor Atticus!
Our backyard!

The next morning, we woke up to a the beauty of snow all around us. Honestly, part of our front yard, because it is so sloped, was already melting away. Atticus was dying to get to school hoping that there would still be snow by recess. I think there was some they got to play in! It stayed cold all day and slowly melted, but it was fun for the girls to finally play in that morning. Also, because Vic is so fun and up for anything, I HAD to ask him to put on his swimsuit and get a beer and sit on his lounge chair in the snow. If only we would have remembered his sunglasses! It was cold out there, but he didn't even hesitate to do it!
And Atticus's class did get to play in the snow!
And here is a compilation of videos from our event! It's kind of long...but it was a fun couple of days! https://youtu.be/z7L6hG2RIO0
