10 Year Wedding Anniversary Trip

When we got married and went on our honeymoon, we had that train of thought that in life, we would always celebrate our anniversaries and the big ones, we would celebrate with big trips! I remember we said that we would go back to Sonoma on our 10th anniversary! Well, that didn't work out. Our lives now include our precious kids and a honeymoon in Sonoma was not going to happen. And that was ok, but we did really want to just get away. So, GG agreed to come keep the kids and we took a little weekend trip to Salado and Georgetown the weekend before our anniversary. It was a great trip! After watching Atticus's Veteran Day singing performance at school, we got on the road. We left Friday morning, shopped and ate in Salado, saw some historical site in Salado, went on to Georgetown to a cute house we rented; then Saturday we slept in, shopped in Georgetown and found places to drink wine and eat; we played games and watched hallmark movies (I know I know, but it was just relaxing and Vic loves to predict a predictable movie, ha!) in our cute little house. We left Sunday morning and shopped at the outlet mall in Round Rock and then made our way back home. It was just a refreshing weekend with just the two of us to celebrate 10 years of marriage!
(he was so nervous to sing "I'm Proud to be an American" because as he had practiced the last couple of weeks at home, he would get emotional and cry sometimes and say it was just so sad. Oh my sweet Atticus!)
We ate at the Stagecoach Inn.

Then we checked out an old college ruins area right in the same area.
This was our Air BNB for the weekend; it was newly renovated and perfect for us to stay in. We could even walk to restaurants or downtown from here.
It was impossible to find dinner in downtown Georgetown Friday night; everywhere had a long wait and we just wanted to eat a little something fun and hang out. We finally found this bar/restaurant and got a table.
And then we just took selfies for the rest of the weekend - in front of every place we ate and drank!
It was a great weekend to remember!
