Last night, we took the kids to Central Baptist Church's event called A Night in Bethlehem. It was such a well done event! They just decorated the inside of the family center like the town. There was a fabric "store" where the kids made ornaments; a flowers shop where they wrapped some flowers in a bouquet; the music shop where they got a bell on a necklace; a "daily bread" bakery; a market where they had plastic gold coins they used to buy real fruits and vegetables; and then a petting zoo for animals that would have roamed the town of Bethlehem. Everyone was dressed up in the clothing from Biblical times. At the end, they took a picture with Mary and Joseph, and the church is supposed to mail it to us. The entire thing was fun and the kids were good and I was very impressed. The funniest part to me was when Grace walked right up to Joseph and showed him her Joseph sticker and just started talking to him! Oh and I should note that the first picture is of Grace. She had lots of stickers that she was sticking on crafts in the house but decided she wanted to decorate her jacket too. So, she did. And on the way home, she had lots of questions about where Mary and Joseph were going to sleep tonight since the baby would sleep in the actual manger. She talks about Jesus (or Jay-zus) a lot and although she puts him in the most random situations during her conversations, I
love to hear her talk. So, we had a great evening walking through Bethlehem.
