Ana & Charley Came to Town!

This past weekend, Ana & Charley came to town for a visit! We asked them both to be Everly's sponsors, or Godparents, for her baptism. And, of course, this  makes Ana her fairy godmother! So, we got to enjoy them for an entire weekend. They arrived Friday night and the kids were so excited! Saturday morning, Vic & Charley went for a run and then we all loaded up to go to Atticus's school for the Candy Cane Fun Run. We brought canned goods for admission and the event's goal was to raise a ton of canned goods for the food bank. The kids got to run laps around the inside of the school and every time they completed 6 laps, they got a candy cane. Atticus ended up with 2 candy canes and then got hot chocolate and cookies. We let Everly visit with Santa and I am anxious to get that photo back. Once that was over, we rearranged kids and Atticus, Ana & I went to the church for what was supposed to be a 30 minute practice for the little kids. But, it was a disorganized, crazy practice and Atticus wasn't really feeling it. An hour or so later and we headed back home to get the rest of the crew and go eat in Downtown Bryan at Casa Rod. I will say here, that while Vic and I are now very used to 3 kids and all of the steps it takes to accomplish anything with 3 kids, I realize how crazy our lives can seem when we are with others. Ana and Charley are the best and so helpful and easygoing, but I can see why some people think 3 kids is so much harder than 2 kids. It's not that much "harder", but it's definitely more busy!

Anyways, after that, we split up again and Ana, Everly and I shopped awhile and then headed home. Vic made dinner, we visited, and then we loaded up in Vic's truck, with no carseats (the kids love this part), in our pajamas and drove through Pebble Creek looking at Christmas lights. I love how excited the kids get to see lights. Grace liked the rainbow lights best and I think Atticus just liked them all. Everly even seemed to enjoy not being in a carseat while we drove around. We made it home again, ate dinner, and put kids to bed. Then, the adults watched Home Alone 2 and called it a night! The next day was the Baptism and Christmas Program, but I'll recap that in another post.
 Coming into school!
Everly lets nobody hold her without getting upset, but Ana got a few quick snuggles in before the fussiness started!
So, we thought we'd take a quick picture. Grace was grumpy all morning since she went to bed way too late the night before. I think this photo is hilarious. And just in case you can't see her look, let me give you a close-up. I'm saving this one in case I need it for the future. :)
We managed to get one group shot though.
We also snuck down to Mrs. Downs's classroom so Charley could show it to Ana and Charley.
We went to lunch where we ate and let Charley be bombared with Star Wars questions. I can't tell you how much Atticus loved having "Ana Banana" and "Charley, but Uncle Charley, not the Charlie in my class" here this weekend. Charley definitely got the 100 questions from Atticus.
We headed out, in our pj's, to see lights!
Then, Ana & Charley let the kids open this awesome book that lets you shine a flashlight through the pages and see hidden things. They did the bedtime story (thank you for the break guys!) and then kids went to bed.
It was a fabulous day and we love having them here!
