Santa's Wonderland

This year, I decided I wanted to spend the $20 for one photo and stand in line for the kids to see Santa at Santa's Wonderland. We have not done this in the past for the two reasons above...long line and expensive. And, I will say that I think I now have it out of my system and will be happy to see any Santa from now on. We all know the only real Santa lives at the North Pole so no matter which dressed up Santa you talk to, the North Pole Santa will get the message.

But, I bought our discount tickets in advance and we headed to Santa's Wonderland on a Wednesday night. We got in line and waited. Thank goodness the weather was manageable and the kids had this fun slide thing to play on while we waited. We finally saw Santa and Mrs. Claus, got our photo and then went on our way. We rode the wagon through the lights....which really are incredible! The kids loved them, even Everly! Hazel slept through most of the ride in Vic's arms. But, the other three loved the lights. We ate smore's, rode on Grace's favorite train, watched some live music, watched a giant screen with The Polar Express playing, and had a really good time. It was another night where the kids really lasted a long time and Vic and I felt victorious until the very end where everyone wore out and started to melt. And Hazel was amazing as always. We decided to wrap her in my baby wrap and I would just wear her for a long time and keep the stroller available for Everly if she got tired (as opposed to putting Hazel into he car seat popped into the stroller and then not having it available at all for Everly...see how much we have to think and pre-plan for every event and every possibility we can think of?) And Hazel was cute as a bug and so good! But, by the end she was starving and unhappy. We may or may not have driven on the service road back to the house (2 miles away) with her in my arms instead of her car seat because she was just so upset. Anyways, it was a fun time! It's $100 for our family to go and park close (and 2 of our kids are still free) so it's a splurge but I think we will always try to do it if we can get those tickets. It's really a fun, festive place!
