I think I need a post on one of my favorite people in the entire world. My aunt GG. I talk about her all the time and for as long as I can remember, she has been one of my favorite people. I love being with GG and doing things with her: shopping, sonic drinks, scrapbooking, buying scrapbooking supplies we don't need, crafting, late night talks, laughing at Molly's stories until we can't stop, sharing my kids with her, and a million other things. I have the fondest memories of she and Melbo making my prom dress about 2 days before prom, sewing for fashion shows and youth fair, helping her each year prepare for her kindergarten classroom, teaching her how to throw away items instead of keeping everything (haha), trips to Grandma's house, dog-sitting (and lion-sitting...sort of), sleep overs at her house, movie theater trips, planning for Christmas, black Friday shopping, swim lessons, school projects (big books, paper mache mummy), haircuts with Patsy, designing nurseries, becoming Gymboree addicts, and I could go on and on. I just have so many memories and fun times with GG. And, now, with our kids and the fact that she has retired, I get to spend even more time with her and my children get to also love her.
Since I stay at home now and she is retired, it has become even easier to see her whether we are coming to her or she is coming to us. Atticus loves GG and not just because she has an Ipad, although "GG Ipad" tend to be said together. She always has a neat new book or toy or treat or has found the best deal on something we want to buy for the kids (she is the best at finding sales) and never gets bored playing the same thing over and over with Atticus. He loves her so much and one of my newest favorite memories is how he needs to play the Ipad in GG's room or on GG's bed and of course she must be there with him. Also, when she was here helping with the kids while I recovered from surgery, Atticus had swim lessons. The last night of lessons, we all went to watch he and Vic in the water. Well, we took two vehicles since the carseats take up so much room. All we heard all the way there was Atticus wondering where GG was. And as soon as we arrive, he MUST go to GG at once. Then, we went to Rosa's for dinner, and the same cycle continued. As soon as we got to Rosa's, he HAD to get to her quickly and take her hand. He loves his GG and sometimes will tell me he needs to call her on the Iphone. Or he will talk about "GG room". He needs her to be with him at all times when she is around! Grace, on the other hand, has also had GG's attention since day one as GG stayed with us the first month Grace was born. GG also got up for 4am feedings to take Grace so I could go get some sleep. And GG practically decorated Grace's entire room (a post I still need to write). They are both two very lucky little kids and Vic and I are very lucky as well. We love our aunt GG!
I love this post best of all!
