"Girls Day" Every Day

While Atticus was at Camp Erwin, Grace and Everly and I had "Girls Day Every Day" as Grace said. It turned out to be a really nice time with just Grace; it gave me a taste of what the fall will be like when Atticus is in Kindergarten all day long. A few things we did:

• Miss Atticus every single day. Every day she would tell me she "missed her bwudder" and couldn't wait to talk to him on facetime each night.
• We made a lego cake the second I came home from dropping him off in Corsicana. Every time, prior to Atticus leaving, that we talked about him leaving, she would tell me she wanted to make him a lego cake. I had no idea what that was but I always just said yes. Well, the SECOND I walked in the door, she was ready to bake a cake. Thankfully, I had a cake mix and tub of icing so we made it. We iced it the next day and stuck legos ALL over it. And then she was happy with the cake! So funny!
• We painted and glued a lot. This girl loves glue.
• We had Family Book Club with The Mixed Up Chameleon. It was less than our first family book club earlier this summer, but so fun to do with her!
• We went to the library and checked out books.
• We shopped at the mall and Target.
• She and Daddy went to HEB; this has actually become a normal Saturday outing for the two of them. I think she even talked him into a balloon and picked one that said "happy birthday" on it and then everyone in the store kept telling her Happy Birthday! She was just as happy as she could be. 
• We bought a "Princess Cupcake" game that became her favorite toy! It is teeny tiny cupcakes that you build to match the Disney Princesses. She loves it!
• We went to Huntsville to see the Christians and Veretts and swim in their pool. 
• We swam in our pool in our yard. 
• We even had an unsuccessful week at Sonshine Camp where she just cried every day because she didn't want to go without Atticus or me. This made me super concerned for Preschool coming up this fall.  
• Grace also came to our bed multiple times and we just let her climb on in. She still needs to have someone sleep in her room and Atticus wasn't there, so even if we could get her to sleep, she would wake up most nights and need us.
• Basically, we just had lots of Grace time! And Everly was just as happy to be along for the ride!
