Now that the logistics of how she arrived have been
documented, I want to finally gush over how beautiful and sweet and wonderful
our little Grace Caroline is! Though bigger than Atticus, she is still just as
tiny as can be. Her skin tone is very dark right now and very red, like her
daddy. When she cries or stretches or squirms, her skin gets very red. She has
the longest fingers. Her feet are a tiny bit bigger than Atticus’ were. Her
cheeks are big and round. Her face looks different to me right now than
Atticus, but lots of people think she looks like Atticus did. Her little chin
is small and her eyes are very dark. She has dark hair and lots of it at the
back. I really hope it doesn’t fall out soon, like Atticus’ did. It’s just so
soft and pretty. I love her lips and her nose (which looks just like Atticus’
did). She doesn’t have very much baby acne and her skin is just soft and sweet.
Clearly, I love every part of her. She is such a good eater and good baby. She
sleeps well when swaddled in her bassinet, but of course prefers being snuggled
up by your neck and on your chest. I am not one of those people that worries
too much about “spoiling” your baby by holding them too much. I know that
eventually she will have to have a routine, but for now, we hold her as much as
we can. This leads to little productivity for me, other than feeding her and
some sleep for myself, but I can’t help but soak up every minute that I can!
She is also fun to dress! Because we didn’t know the gender of our baby, we
didn’t have a way to prepare. If we had a boy, we were set on clothing. But, a
girl? We have a few things given to us in the past, but most are too big for right
now. I recently bought 3 onesies in pink for her just in case we had a girl.
And I decided that I would wait to worry about a “coming home” outfit until
after our baby arrived. At that point, GG was going to go shop for one.
However, in the past few days, GG has shopped ‘til she dropped (mostly at
Gymboree) and bought some adorable outfits! I’ll put some pictures below.
Gymboree is probably our favorite place to shop and fortunately, they were
having a sale and we had some coupons, so GG stocked up on some items for us.
Also, do you know what every outfit needs? A matching bow!
So, dressing Grace will be really fun. I think GG is
enjoying it the most right now!
We are just very excited to have a little girl to join our
family! Grace Caroline Seidel – we love you!
