December 4th: Grace and her tiny ornaments

So, possibly not even a year after Vic I moved into our house (so around 6 years ago), we walked through the neighborhood during a neighborhood wide garage sale. We came across these little tiny wooden ornaments for probably $1. The lady, who probably had college aged kids, told us they were the first ornaments she and her husband had for their first Christmas tree when they were first married. I don't know why we bought them...probably the sweet story and seriously, who could ever get rid of something as sentimental as that? This could be why our attic is so full...we are way too sentimental. Anyways, I don't think we ever pulled them out to actually use until this past year when we let Atticus decorate a tiny tree for the kitchen table. And, this year, we pulled them out again and both kids decorated a tiny tree. Well, the extras that they didn't use have become Grace's favorites this past week. She will pull two particular ones out to carry around and play with but she will also set them all up. Thursday night, I caught her in her setup mode. She didn't even tell me to "top mommy!" taking her picture which she sometimes tells me. But, I love these little moments and sweet things like this that will not be memorable at all to her in a few years, but I hope I remember these little moments forever.
Oops - sorry about that flash Grace!
