December 7th: Orange Grove Christmas

We headed down to Orange Grove Friday morning to celebrate Christmas with the Seidels. Friday, the afternoon was spent with me loving on Keller and catching up with Geoff and Jill, Grace checking out Smitty the Cat and playing ball outside with Janice while Atticus and Steve and Vic went to sit in the deer blind and watch for deer. We also got to go see the progress made on the house that Steve and Janice are remodeling for Geoff and Jill to live in while they are on their next assignment. They arrived in the last few weeks, but are living with Janice and Steve until the house is done. Then, Geoff will be working in Kingsville in his Navy position.

Late Saturday morning, we opened presents, ate some lunch and took some naps. We saw Susan and Granny Liz for a little bit and then for dinner, Bruce, Phyllis and Granny Irene also came over to visit. The kids got some really fun things from the Seidels. Grace got a Bubble Guppies microphone that she never put down and continues to sing on it all day long. She also got a Doc McStuffins book and a Bubble Guppies book, all from Jill and Geoff. Steve and Janice gave her a toaster, mixer, and cupcake set. Atticus got a scooter from Jill and Geoff which he really needed! And he got Lite Brights, nerf guns, and a dusting/mopping/sweeping kit from Steve and Janice. Just yesterday, back here at home, I am cleaning out summer clothes in Grace's room and Atticus comes up to me in his cap and his cleaning supplies and says "The Cleaning Man is Here!" He loved getting to shoot nerf guns all afternoon on Saturday. He knocked over lots of cans during practice! He also got a special treat of his own bag of "Pist-ah-chios" to eat. He loves them!! The weather was beautiful all weekend - sunny but cold enough for long sleeves during the day. On Sunday, we packed up and left about 10 am because we had a party to get back to attend at 4pm in College Station. But, it was a nice weekend for Atticus and Grace to spend time with the Seidels!
