December 8th: A New Baby

So, back around the time I stopped blogging was also the time we found out we were expecting another baby!! As of today, we are 19 weeks, 5 days with a tiny little human inside my stomach! We had our ultrasound today and are just hoping at my appointment next week, all is well with our tiny little one. We are having another surprise gender! We kind of thought twice about it this time, but a surprise is a LOT of fun so we decided to wait. And as far as Atticus is concerned, it's a girl and if you ask Grace, it's a boy. So, why find out? We are due April 28th but will have a scheduled c-section this time, so will probably deliver at 39 weeks.

It has been a sicker pregnancy so far. I have not been "sick" (if you know what I mean) in the last couple of weeks so that is nice...as long as I take my medicine, it helps. As soon as I went off of it for a couple of days, I was sick morning and night. Crazy! But, it's still that constant give and take of eating enough at the right times and still taking my medicine at the right time. Plus, now I am hitting that point of getting dizzy if I move too fast or those ligament pains if I move too fast. But, I am just so happy to be having another baby so I really am always OK with those issues. I thought the next time I was pregnant would be easier because I would not be at work and "having" to do certain things all day or be around people. But, I don't know if it's just the terrible morning sickness that has made it tougher or just having to also keep up with Atticus and Grace, but it's been a little different than I expected. I have to admit the kids watched way too many cartoons for that first trimester while I would hug my stomach and try to take naps on the couch that would allow me to still hear the kids, but get a little rest. You gotta do what you gotta do sometimes!

Although I like to eat certain things for breakfast (sausage, egg, cheese biscuit everyday! but just in the past couple of days, it has been less appealing...so I'll be switching to something else soon I'm sure) and sometimes need that 7.5 oz Dr. Pepper, I really haven't had any cravings. Sometimes, oranges and cheese sticks seem to do the trick when I hit that "I'm starving all of a sudden but also feel like I'm going to be sick so how could I possibly eat anything right now?" feeling. Heating up leftovers has sounded mostly terrible, although I did re-heat Thanksgiving dressing and squash casserole over and over and it was delicious. I think mostly it's the smell that does me in each time.
I'm still tired and sometimes just need to sit down awhile, but less exhausted these last couple of weeks. So, I'm no longer going to be at 8:15 although that was the most glorious sleep!

The kids have been fun during this pregnancy. Atticus has known since about 6 weeks and did a good job keeping a secret. He only almost told one time when we were face timing Mary and Taylor, who were telling US that they were expecting a baby!! Otherwise, at 9 weeks, we began to tell so he didn't have to keep a secret any longer. Since day 1, he has said this is a girl....and we should name her Walinda (after the walrus on Paw Patrol). And he has stuck with this. It's been pretty cute! When you ask Grace what we are having, she will either say boy or sometimes will just say "No". Every night, Grace will pray for "baby mommy tummy" and Atticus will also pray for the baby. They have both been funny about me being "sick". They both got used to me running to the bathroom randomly and it only phased them the first couple of times. If I do need to sit down or I don't feel well, all I have to do is tell Grace I am sick and she will care for me and ask me when I'm "ah betta". I am excited to bring a baby home to them next spring. While we have all been wondering how Grace will handle a new baby, I am beginning to think she will be wonderful with a new little one. Atticus was never phased by Grace's arrival and loved her from Day 1. And I think both kids will actually be so happy to have another little brother or sister.

Those are the updates on Baby Seidel #3 for now! Hoping the spring flies by! First, Mary and Taylor's baby BOY will be born and then our little surprise will follow suit. What a fun 2016 this will be!
